Public voting will remain open until 18th September, then the top five from each category will be shortlisted and the winners will be selected by a panel of cabaret industry experts. It’s equally important to get input from those who support cabaret with their purses and their applause as well as the industry experts – and this is a fair and balanced voting system. We’ve spilt the voting into two parts: the public vote and the panel vote. Allies are vital, and it’s important that their contribution is acknowledged. But there are loads of amazing ally performers working the cabaret scene too, so they will be peppered amongst the categories. Is it just LGBTQ+ artists that are being celebrated? The QX Cabaret Awards are the only awards in the UK that are devoted to LGBTQ+ cabaret and drag. And there’s SO MUCH to be celebrated right now. So, what’s it all abaaaat?
